PROJECT OVERVIEW

Spectech undertook a comprehensive concrete repair project in a high-risk riverside location, addressing multiple areas requiring immediate attention. The project presented distinctive challenges stemming from the considerable weight of the repairs, the requirement for soffit repairs above water, and the substantial span exceeding 4800mm between structural elements necessitating formwork attachment.

CHALLENGES

One of the most significant challenges of this project was the repair of concrete sections estimated to weigh approximately 4.5 metric tonnes. These substantial repairs required precision and expertise to ensure their structural integrity. 

 

Additionally, the need for soffit repair over water presented a unique obstacle. Spectech had to carefully navigate this delicate task while adhering to stringent safety standards.

The project location itself brought further complexities. Situated adjacent to the Brisbane River, Spectech had to consider environmental factors and potential risks associated with direct exposure to the river. This included accommodating heavy maritime traffic, the presence of large displacement vessels, and the impact of high tidal movements.

SCOPE OF WORK

Spectech's scope of work encompassed an extensive 7500 linear meters of Epoxy Crack Repairs. These repairs were conducted with meticulous attention to detail to ensure the longevity and structural integrity of the concrete elements. Our team leveraged their expertise to address the unique challenges presented by this project effectively.
